Chair – Ian Drane
Ian Drane has worked in the timber trade for 40 years. He started Vida Wood UK in 2001 and became Managing Director of the Company in 2022.
Ian has been an active EATTA committee member for 5 years and is excited to become Chairman in 2026. Ian has always lived in East Anglia mostly in Kesgrave, Suffolk before moving to Norfolk in 2014 where he lives with his wife Wendy near to Swaffham.
Ian’s interests include cricket, music and dancing. He even played cricket for William Brown’s in the 1980s so has always had links to the timber trade. He is a huge Bruce Springsteen fan and also enjoys dancing including modern jive, ballroom and sequence. “My family and friends always comment that I never keep still. Like many I fell into this wonderful timber trade. I consider myself so lucky to have known so many characters and friends in the trade and intend to use my experience and energy to benefit EATTA and membership over the coming three years.”

Vice Chair – Greg Pickett
Greg is a Director of Taylor Maxwell Timber, one of the largest importers and distributors of softwood timbers in the UK.
Having worked for over 20 years in the timber trade he has experience of selling a variety of products including Carcassing, CLS, TR26, Sawn Joinery, Machined Timbers and Engineered Wood Products to UK Merchants, Manufacturers and Distributors.
Greg enjoys nurturing relationships between both customers and suppliers and is also keen to promote the timber trade as an attractive career path for young people.
Outside of work he enjoys spending time with family and friends and is an avid Boston United fan!

Secretary – Tabitha Binding
Tabitha’s timber knowledge spans the full journey from forest to finished product. Her work has spanned supply chains, factory production control, and timber systems, with a strong focus on education, policy, and the delivery of certified, low-energy, low-carbon buildings using sustainable, long-lived timber materials. She has collaborated with a wide range of organisations and their members, including Coed Cymru, Woodknowledge Wales, TRADA, BM TRADA, the Timber Trade Federation (TTF), Timber Development UK (TDUK), Coaction Training CIC, and the Passivhaus Trust.
She is looking forward to supporting EATTA’s chair, committee and members.
